7+ Social Media Channels To Generate Organic Traffic

Social media has become the most popular way for people to get in touch with their friends, family, and the rest of the world. More than half of all internet users are active on social media, making it an extremely important marketing tool.

Marketers are getting more involved with social media because it’s becoming one of the most effective ways to reach out to your target audiences. There are so many social media channels out there, but it’s not easy to find the best channels to generate your targeted traffic.

The thing is, the traffic is there but marketers lack the ability to bring awareness to their dream audience because they haven’t figured out what drives them during the day, what makes them stress out before going to sleep, etc.

In order to capture your audience's attention, you need to understand them on a deep, intimate, and physiological level. Here is where you can craft your core messages to start getting eyeballs in your direction, and before you know it, they will start becoming your potential leads.

The name of the game is to focus on one social media platform and master it, so you get even other marketers asking you how to do XYZ because they are seeing how successful you are becoming on your preferred social media platform.

Russell Brunson talks about this exact same thing in his new "Traffic Secrets book" filling your websites and funnels with your dream customers. Choose a platform and interact with your audience to find out more about their needs and wants in life.

This is how you can start generating organic traffic through your preferred social media channel without spending a monthly budget on advertising. Of course, if you want to reach a larger audience you can’t touch, you can go with this payment method.

Yet, when you truly and genuinely connect with your audience, they will help you share your message with others who may think they can benefit from your messages, products, or services.

Word of mouth is always better than paid media because people trust those who share information with them because they have already built a bond with each other instead of seeing an annoying pop-up advertisement on their social media newsfeed.

As you can imagine, in order to capture your audience’s information, such as their first name, email, or phone number, you may need an email marketing tool that provides an opt-in form to capture these details.

This would be the only monthly cost you would be spending to save your leads information in order to follow up with them with more useful email marketing campaigns to turn them into buying customers. It doesn’t sound sexy, but success starts at this point.

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing what I consider the top social media platforms with the most active users monthly, so you can have more than one option to choose from, get to know the platform, and then pick one and put everything you have to start generating leads with no paid ads.

Remember, the goal is to be so good at one social media platform that you can do a minimum of a thirty-minute presentation about it, from the basic foundation on how to generate leads to advanced social media strategies to acquire even more website traffic

What is Organic Traffic?

Organic traffic is the act of getting online visitors to your website or physical store location without the use of paid advertising. Organic traffic comes from referrers, links, and social media.

Some of these examples can be found by frequently posting on social media with your URL link and having users click on it to come to your website. Another option is to place a sign outside with a special promotion to encourage customers to walk into your store and purchase your products or services.

When we look more deeply into organic traffic, there are two types:

Indirect Traffic

Here, people are actively seeking information about a product or service, either by researching it on Google with specific keywords or by making a purchase decision.

If your website is optimized for search engines and ranks well for the keywords chosen by this potential client

… there is a high possibility that this user may end up being a lead for you or even better, a buyer! Direct traffic does not typically include referrals from social media channels.

Direct Traffic

This happens when you are able to bring awareness to your leads by using the language they connect with on social media posts or using traditional methods such as radio announcements or mail marketing.

They will want to consume more information regarding the topic and even opt-in to a newsletter to keep receiving even more useful information until they eventually themselves become hot buyers.

Overall, organic traffic is known as a free and slow way to get leads, but without a doubt, the visitors who opt-in to your email list are high-potential prospects who connected with your message at one point and are happy to receive more information about the subject.

As long as you follow up with them through email nurturing, eventually they will convert from a lead into a buyer.

Facebook

Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build communities and bring the world closer together. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what's going on in the world, and to share and express what matters most to them.

Facebook Business is a suite of powerful marketing tools designed to help marketers grow their own businesses and/or others, either organically or through paid advertising.

Facebook Group

Marketers can create private or public groups for free and have the ability to invite only their dream audience. With this, they have the opportunity to target specific users, maintain customer relationships, and generate brand awareness, all without spending a dime on advertising.

As they do this, they can collect user information, such as email and phone number, if the marketer wishes to do so, to segment the prospect and follow up via email marketing about material and content the user is interested in. All this would be considered organic traffic.

Facebook groups offer the opportunity to ask questions, provide insights into products or services, or share content that will be relevant to the group, and users can provide feedback by posting text, links, images, videos, and other content within the group.

Facebook Messenger

Mark Zuckerberg once announced that if he had the choice of creating the first feature for Facebook all over again, it would be Facebook Messenger because it is the best feature to stay in close contact with your family and friends.

When it comes to marketing, it is very simple to set up inside of Facebook, and anyone who interacts with the chatbot messenger becomes a subscriber to your bot list. It’s like an email list but for Facebook Messenger.

There are third party software that can enhance your Facebook Messenger with automation chatbots to acquire more leads to later follow up with them and redirect them to a website or a funnel to win a sale.

Facebook Messenger can also be installed into your own personal website, marketing funnel or even your Facebook group all with the intent of growing your email list and messenger list. This is one of my favorite ways to grow my business organically.

Youtube

YouTube is a video content sharing platform that offers users the chance to upload their own videos.

YouTube has two main purposes. One is to entertain the viewer with videos on topics such as sports, news, games, and more. The other purpose is to provide an opportunity for businesses to promote their products or services.

In order to generate organic traffic, one must upload at least one video a week providing useful information to the viewer, such as: how-to videos, tips and tricks, behind-the-scenes content, exclusive in-house research, etc.

As long as you have a CTA (call to action) on your video, you can start driving traffic from one platform to another (organically), like to your website, to get the lead’s information.

One of the best marketing tools for Youtube is VidIQ to rank your videos faster with proper SEO (search engine optimization). This way, you won’t have to guess what your dream audience is typing, and you can make a video relevant to those keywords.

Shorts

Youtube Shorts is a platform where users can upload short videos of up to 60 seconds in length. This makes it easy for marketers to create short, engaging content that can be shared on social media or rank well in search engines.

This is a great way for marketers to build up their personal brand or work with other brands to create something fresh and new. More eyeballs on a Shorts video means more organic traffic you can drive to your website or any other social media platform.

Instagram

Instagram is a social media app used to take pictures, but as of recently, it’s center of attention has been shifting towards making short 60-second videos like TikTok and Youtube Shorts.

Marketers can still upload their pictures with a CTA, but as of lately, in this new modern age, short video content has been performing better than static images. Yet, both methods are still as good at generating organic traffic, but one does work faster than the other.

As of right now, the smartest way to automate the process of generating leads would be through IG DM automation to respond to your followers without you doing it manually.

IG Reels

This is one of the exciting features that Instagram has rolled out in the summer of 2020, and everyone is using IG Reels. The process of creating highly engaging video content without having to use high-tech software is here.

IG Reels allows the user to do everything within the app: add filters, edit and add more video clips on top of the other one, transitions, sound effects, etc.

The ideal method would be to give the audience what they want in a short video format in IG Reels. This way, with a CTA, you can start generating organic website traffic.

Since IG Reels is so new, when one of your videos performs very well, Instagram will push it to more eyeballs who may like the material you created, like referral marketing, without you having to spend a nickel on paid ads.

Blogging

Blogging is a technique for content marketing, the practice of publishing articles online, which include text, images, and video, on either a personal or business marketing website.

Blogging is a free way of building and generating organic traffic to your website, product, or service.

Blogging is often used as an SEO (search engine optimization) strategy as it can be an effective way to link building with other websites to rank higher and gain more authority on the Google search engines and with your new visitors and current customers as well.

The benefits of blogging are many; it gives more visibility to the company, offers the chance to stand out from competitors, provides more relevant knowledge about products, and offers valuable content for customers with detailed descriptions.

Pinterest

Pinterest is a social media site that is best known for its collection of user-generated images. It lets people save and share the things they find interesting on the internet, which makes it a great marketing tool.

With Pinterest, marketers can save images based on topics or keywords and then later share them with others.

Pinterest allows marketers to create visually appealing content with ease, which in turn increases conversion rates and helps make brands more memorable to customers.

As an example, if people want to sell cupcakes, they could post an image of their cupcake on Pinterest. Users would then be able to see that product and maybe even purchase it because of this image.

This social media app is not utilized by many marketers, which gives you a huge advantage in acquiring more leads and sales from this “blue ocean.”. Easier when it comes to generating organic traffic and also less expensive when it comes to paid ads.

Linkedin

LinkedIn is like a Facebook social media site, but for professionals. It has more than 500 million users and is one of the biggest professional networking sites in the world.

LinkedIn provides opportunities for professionals to share their skills, experience, and expertise with others in their field. It is like a digital resume, where members can upload their profile and include information such as their education, work history, and online portfolio.

One of the benefits of LinkedIn is that it can be used for marketing purposes.

LinkedIn provides an opportunity for marketers to grow their social network, get in touch with potential clients, post jobs or get hired, advertise their business or products, or get recommendations from people they are connected to.

LinkedIn allows you to search for other professionals based on interest, skill set, company size, etc. LinkedIn also has a feature where you can upload your resume, which makes it easier for people to look at your qualifications.

Tiktok

Tiktok is a mobile video content platform and social media site. The app allows users to create and share short videos with followers, as well as do live streaming. It provides users with many features, such as filters, stickers, and music, similar to IG Reels.

The content is divided into different categories: dance videos, lip sync videos (which has over 80 million posts), challenges (like singing a song or changing their voice to make it sound like they are animals), “only me” -videos where people talk about themselves or answer questions from viewers about themselves, etc.

Personally speaking for myself and many others who have fallen into the “time portal” of Tiktok, you can easily be swiping videos after videos, and when you least expect it, 2 or 3 hours have flown by, making you late to go to the gym, make dinner for the family, or do the laundry.

This is the hottest mobile video content platform so far, and if you create engaging videos with CTAs, it can be the best way to generate free organic traffic compared to all the other social media platforms as of right now.

Snapchat

Snapchat is a social media platform that allows users to send video and images for a set amount of time before they are no longer visible on the app.

Users are able to identify what is known as their "story," which can be viewed by users who follow that user. Stories are not visible on the app after 24 hours.

This app is mostly used by high school students and college students as well, and it is like the cool social media app for the young ones nowadays.

As a marketer who wants to target a younger demographic to generate leads and sales, this would be the app that they should be using to start making quick and fast wins.

It is not as easy to generate organic traffic and organic leads with this app because you would have to know tons of people in person to exchange snapchat as well as encourage them to share it with their friends and family.

On the other hand, paid ads on this platform make it way easier to generate sales and leads. The more you pay, the larger the audience you can reach.

Twitter

Twitter is a social networking service that allows users to post and interact with messages known as 'tweets'. It functions like Facebook but with fewer features.

Twitter is not as popular as it once was. More and more social media apps started coming out with newer and better features, leaving Twitter behind because it didn’t adapt quickly to this fast-paced modern age.

Less people have Twitter, and marketers who still do are flexing their social media followers to other brands and businesses to possibly collaborate with them or get hired by them.

Needless to say, you can definitely generate quality organic traffic, but at a much slower pace than the other social media apps.

Quora

Quora is a question-and-answer site where individuals ask questions and members of the public or other community members answer them.

Quora helps marketers find questions that are relevant to their brands and offers advice on how to create high-quality content for them. It helps them stay ahead of the competition by allowing them to easily identify questions that may interest their target audience.

This way, the marketer can start building a figure of authority where people start trusting him or her more because of the useful information he or she is providing on the Quora forms.

If the answer also provides a CTA, this would be a fast and easy method to generate free website traffic.

Reddit

Reddit competes with Quora because they both provide the same platform for users to ask questions and Reddit members to answer them.

Tumblr

Tumblr is a microblogging and social networking site that allows users to post text, images, video, or GIFs to a short-form blog.

In order for marketers to grow their followers and audience on Tumblr, they need to spend time curating their posts and re-blogging content from other people. This is the best way to attract followers on Tumblr.

If you like writing blogs like I do, this would be a perfect outlet for you to build your audience post after post with hyperlinks redirecting to your main website. This is yet another way to generate organic traffic.

I also only recommend dropping teasers on Tumblr and redirecting them to your main blog site to reveal your full blog in an attempt to capture your lead information as well as “pixel” the visitor for advance marketing campaigns in the near future.

Triller

Thriller is a dancing app platform; many look at it like a rendition of Tiktok. They both have similar functionality, but Tiktok outranks Thriller almost 10x more.

My best advice would be to repurpose relevant content on this social media app to establish more brand awareness through different distribution channels.

This technique can also apply very well to IG reels as well.

Conclusion: Why Social Media is Important More Than Ever, For Your Business?

The benefits of social media for your business are many.

It can help you grow your brand, create targeted outreach, build relationships with influencers, increase your online visibility, get feedback from clients or potential clients, and pull data-driven insights about what people like or don't like about your company or product.

People are less likely to pick up the phone to call about something these days, but they will definitely use it to write an email, send a message through Facebook Messenger, or even tag the company on a social media post.
